Since its inception over 50 years ago, training has remained a fundamental core value to the group. More recently, MMG has prepared ambitious plans for the development of its new more widely applied training programme to meet its expansion objectives. This programme is hallmarked as the strategic tool to increase the number of skilled Saudi and international employees in the company, required to meet the needs of the industry’s growing demand. The programme has already reached its first significant milestone, in the form of the Dammam based training facility and the remainder of the programme will be rolled out over the next three to five years.

The MMG Dammam Training Centre provides the nucleus for the delivery and activation of many of the educational and vocational training programmes that take place to keep the workforce updated and certified, with both industry international accreditation bodies and individual client standards specifications. Six classrooms, one computer laboratory and a large training workshop, divided into sections for each specialist craft, comprise the main core of the facility. This is supported by a fully serviced practical training arena that can accommodate up to 24 welding stations at any one time, along with a full range of industrial construction standard tools and equipment. In addition, a dedicated outdoor area facilitates the education requirements for rigging and scaffolding simulation training activities.
